CPS Safety Watch/Alert: Elopement
TARGET AUDIENCE
Alex Christgen, Data Services Manager and former Executive Director for the Center for Patient Safety, has over 25 years of strategic planning, management, continuous process improvement, team building, and culture change experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. She has been with the Center since 2011, overseeing the Center’s operations from 2015 to 2019. Alex’s current role provides a more hands-on approach into the Center’s data functions for PSO services and culture measurement. She has worked in a hospital and for the Department of Health and Senior Services in the regulatory division in the state of Missouri. Alex also has Malcolm Baldrige experience, assisting with two award-winning applications for organizational performance excellence in healthcare. Alex is passionate about patient safety and believes healthcare is at a pivotal point. She believes we must all hold ourselves, and our peers, accountable for the care we provide and we can best do so in a culture that supports open and honest communication. Her work includes organizational strategic alignment for national and international outreach to inform, educate, and raise awareness of the importance of patient safety across the care continuum. Alex works closely with the Center’s entire team to find new and innovative ways to inform and educate providers through changing requirements and ensuring services and educational offerings blend innovative technology with valuable one-on-one interactions. Alex holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. She is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
